About the Oklahoma School of Photography

In 1972, the Oklahoma School of Photography was founded, and ever since, students have been able to receive a very comprehensive and varied education in the art of photography. Programs Offered At the Oklahoma School of Photography

There are three main areas of study at the Oklahoma School of Photography. These areas are the Digital Imaging Program, the Photography Program and Photography CMDL, and there are day and evening classes available.

• Digital Imaging Program – This is a 36 week certificate program where students learn about digital imaging, and assignments include such things as designing magazine covers, restoring images, CD cover art, and much, much more.
  
  Students who complete this program will be prepared to enter a variety of different photographic areas, including photographic restorations, publishing and more. Some of the things you will learn in this program include Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe In Design, Adobe Acrobat and QuarkXPress.
  
  
• Photography Program – This is a course that offers students plenty of hands on experience, so that they are fully prepared to enter the world of photography and have careers in portrait photography, wedding photography, photo journalism, fashion photography and a whole lot more.
  
  Students learn to use a variety of different types of cameras, including 35 mm, digital, medium format, view cameras and others. Some of the things you will learn in this program include exposure and lighting, wedding photography, studio photography, darkroom techniques and more.
  
  
• Photography CMDL – This is a great course for anyone who is unable to attend traditional classes, but would still like to receive an education in photography. This particular program is entirely online, and offers training for digital photography, so you will be ready to work in the photography industry, or even start up your own photography business.
  
  Some of the things that you can expect to learn while taking this program include portrait photography, wedding photography, landscape photography, commercial photography, and a whole lot more.
  

When you enroll in one of the programs at the Oklahoma photography school, you do not have to worry about being in school for three or four years. You will complete these programs in 36 weeks, or nine months, so in less than one year, you will be on your way to a new and exciting career in photography.
